Test Shooting with Jaye Brown

jaye-brown_046.jpg

2015-04-03_0001 I've spent a bit of time recently shooting some work with the magnificent Jaye Brown. We went to a beach on a ridiculously cold day (and got in the water, stupid idea!) and then spent some time sliding down muddy hills.

Big props to the ever awesome Cat Robertson for taking care of make-up.

So, for people that like this kind of thing, some camera chat on what I was doing.

All of this was shot on my Mk3, mostly with my newly acquired Sigma 35mm 1.4 art lens. I'd had a play with the lens before buying it and really liked it. Now, after using it pretty regularly, I'm struggling to describe how much I love it. I shot a wedding last week and the only time it came off my camera was for the speeches. Absolutely beautiful. Before I would have shot this on the 24-70 but it's really nice to be moving about with the 35mm.

Also, in the forest shots, I wanted to manufacture some natural looking light in the scene. I used a cto gel on a flashgun shooting towards Jaye's back to create a nice warm sunset vibe (fairly different to the reality!) I think it's worked out pretty well (maybe I shouldn't have said anything!).

Here are some of my favourites from the shoot, as always, let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking e x
