Scott McTominay for Adidas
As Scotland bask in the glory of a first World Cup victory in 36 years after the 1-0 win over Haiti at the weekend, I’m basking in the memory of a bitingly cold Spring morning when I visited Barclays Hampden to photograph Scott Mctominay, the man who is quickly becoming a legend of Scottish football.
I was commissioned by Adidas to photograph Scott in the new Scotland kit, launched for the 2026 World Cup, in front of the recently completed mural of his iconic overhead kick goal scored against Denmark on the way to qualifying for the tournament.
The cold conditions meant our time was cut short, but Scott was a treat to work with.
And I came away delighted that I didn’t fall on my ass when I passed him the ball. That’s a win.
